The Foundation's goal in this funding category is to further the awareness and knowledge of the inherent dangers of untreated sleep disordered breathing, its symptoms, diagnosis and treatment with sleep specialists, primary care physicians, educators and the general public. Only programs that have wide outreach to a significant clinical or public population base will be considered.
Institutionally focused CME programs will not be funded by the Foundation at this time.
For examples of organizations that have been funded, please refer to Grant Recipients.
The ResMed Foundation is restricted from funding:
Donor recipients must be a qualified tax-exempt organization under section 501 (c) 3 of the US Internal Revenue Service or have the equivalent designation by the federal governing agency in another country. Proof of said status is required of all organizations.
Grants will be given to organizations that demonstrate that they have competent management who have a history of delivering results in an effective and cost efficient manner.
Grants will be awarded with a clear expectation of measurable results and outcomes.
A "Letter of Agreement" (LOA) between the grantee and grantor will be required once a grant has been approved and prior to funding.
Upon completion of the project a follow-up report to the Foundation describing how the Foundation was acknowledged, how the funds were spent and what were the definitive outcomes and achievements is required of all grant recipients. Future funding is contingent on the Foundation's timely receipt of this report.
